what treatments ARE available these days for laying hens with bronchial issues?

I have had poultry for many years, healthy for many years.Laying birds for many years in a small flock. My hens are having a few bronchial issues now, and I went online to buy meds but see most I used to use are no longer available! I want to treat all the hens, and need fast withdrawl for eggs...2 weeks or less would be ideal. Suggestions???

What symptoms are you seeing? Eye bubbles or swelling around an eye, snezzing , or crackles might be signs of mycoplasma (MG) or CRD. Sneezing alone with a little congestion but no eye drainage or swelling might be infectious bronchitis. Tylan (tylosin) powder can be used to treat MG in water for 5 days. You can find it here:

I use natural remedies for our girls. I put echinacea/goldenseal powder plus vitamin C into a little bowl of whatever yummy stuff I have laying around such as oatmeal and honey, mix it well, feed it to the "patient" twice a day for three days. It works 100% of the time unless it's cancer or they have a snake wrapped around them or something.

Echinacea/goldenseal is an antibiotic/anti-parasite herbal combination that doesn't harm their stomachs. I buy mine at Walmart in capsules, break them open, stir a few in. I'm surprised more people don't use this for their chickens and other animals. I used to give it to my children when they had a cold coming on. It strengthens the immune system and they were able to avoid getting a full blown cold. I also use it on all of our dogs, plus the cats. It's such a simple and effective alternative to expensive medicines. Hope your girls make a full recovery.
