What type of Bantam could this be?

mixed breed ? I was going to say Cochin but the toes look messed up and like there are to many. Where did you get it?

Southern States. It has 5 toes.

I bought it last Wednesday at Southern States. I was told it was a Silkie. Should I return it?

It's deffinitly not a pure bred silkie. Silkies have black skin, and as far as I know they are the only breed to have 5 toes ( well except mixed silkies). Its odd that it has the 5 toes but didnt carry over the black skin gene . Its sure is cute though. Unless you are wanting to have a show bird I see no reason to return it.

Thanks. I'm not planning to show it. It's very sweet and I really want to keep it. I wonder it will have the longer hair and when I'll be able to determine the sex? My husband won't let me keep a rooster :(

There are several other breeds that have 5 toes. But, that does look like a hatchery quality Silkie that has something else in its ancestry that didn't have black skin. In other words, it's not a pure Silkie.

It's hard to tell at this age, but it doesn't look like it's going to feather out like a Silkie. The wing feathers look "normal" to me. It will be a few weeks before you can determine gender.
