What type of chicken is this

So I think its a roo but someone on the silkie thread said he might not be a silkie. It has me questioning now. He dosn't have as fine of feathering. I got him at a few days old and saw the flock he was supposidly from that where silkies fine feathers and all but the chick i got with him is I believe a polish cross not a silkie. So any ideas what this guy may be?

My guess would be a Silkie/Polish cross...the crest looks very Polish like in shape rather than the mohawk (male) or pompom (female) of the Silkie.
