This is my chicken Goldie, I bought her 8 months ago. The guy I bought her from sold me an "ameraucana" which wasn't actually an ameraucana. He said that goldie is an wyandotte, and to me she looks like one. I just want to make sure, she is what he said she is.

Splash Laced Red Wyandotte hen
Thank you for clarifying, I appreciate that. and im very grateful that you even said splashed laced, even though I don't know fully understand that part. It's good to know.

Would you like me to give a color explanation?

So, there’s a color of Wyandotte called Blue Laced Red. Very similar looking. The lacing is the gray edge of the feather.

And with the color blue, if you breed two blue birds, you get 50% blue, 25% black, and 25% splash.

Splash is a very pale gray-white color with darker flecks.

So, when you breed Blue Laced Red Wyandottes, you get a mix of colors: mainly BLR, but some Splash Laced, and some Black Laced.

Your hen is Splash laced. She is paler than a BLR, with small darker flecks in the lacing.

She doesn’t look dark enough to be red though. Looks more like a splash laced golden to me.
...but I’m just nitpicking. She is so beautiful!

Is splash laced golden a color? I thought that the common lacing colors were gold laced (black laced gold) silver laced (black laced silver) and BBS laced red.
