What type of chickens do we have?

We purchased 4 Amberlink sexed chicks on March 25th from a local farm supply store. They have now feathered and do not seem to be Amberlink. Instead of white, they are brown. 3 of them have a black feather ring around the back of their neck. The 1 without the ring seems to be trying to crow. Does any one have any ideas what type of chickens we ended up with?

I just placed an order for 6 Sussex pullets to be delivered in the middle of June. Will I be able to keep the cockerels we have or will there be too much testosterone? Additionally, if I keep one and he eventually fertilizes eggs that my Sussex lay, what type of chicken will I end up with? Is crossing breeds good, bad, no consequence? I am already attached to the stupid birds and definitely don't want to give away to some one who is going to kill them but not sure if I can successfully keep them.

typically you need quite a few more hens per rooster, otherwise you'll have a lot more fighting over females and they'll oversex your hens

I have this cute little bantam and just wondering what kind of Bantam she is. She was pure white but now at about 4 weeks she's getting a few black feathers.

1 rooster to 8-10 hens is a good ratio. Any more than that will lead to overbreeding. The resulting chicks will be crossbreds/hybrids/mutts what ever term you prefer. And should be good layers.
