What type of comb does Delilah have? I’m stumped. She’s either an Easter Egger or an olive Egger.

Modified Pea comb
Meaning: one copy of the pea comb gene, and one copy of the not-pea comb gene. This tends to cause odd-looking combs.

She’s either an Easter Egger or an olive Egger.
I am guessing Olive Egger.

It is common for Easter Eggers to be pure for the pea comb gene (not always, but common.)

It is common for Olive Eggers to be produced by crossing an Easter Egger with a breed that has a single comb & lays dark brown eggs (thus producing chicks with a comb like your's has.)

You should know for sure when she lays eggs.

Thank you…that’s very helpful!!

I’m really hoping she’s an Olive Egger and she’s not laying yet. I purchased 2 Easter Egger chicks ans 2 olive Egger chicks. Of course it was pretty much impossible to keep track of which were which as chicks. One of the 4 turned out to be a rooster. Today I confirmed that two of the remaining 3 pullets are laying blue eggs. So Delilah is my last chance to hopefully 🤞🏼 end up with green eggs. She’s the only one of the 3 pullets that doesn’t have a regular pea comb. Plus, now that I think about it, Rusty the rooster might have a modified pea comb also…which would make since is he and Delilah are my two olive Eggers! I just thought his comb was bigger/different because he was a rooster…but now I’m thinking maybe not. I’ll find some pics of him to post when I get a chance so you can lmk what you think.

This is Rusty. Does he also a modified pea comb? Is he likely my other Olive Egger?
