Yep! Mixing comb types. Probably the result of a single combed parent and a pea combed parent! How do they become modified? Is that because of mixing breeds?
She is adorable though with her crest, color, fuzzy feet, and her five toes.I have a little mix breed baby around 7 to 8 weeks old. She/he has silkie dad and an unknown mother. The comb is getting bigger and starting to turn pink. I fear my little cutie will end up a rooster but her comb is different than the other mixes I got from same clutch and another clutch on same farm. I'll add a picture to see if anyone can identify the comb. I'm thinking rose but it's a little different than I've seen.

Yeah he is getting wattles and the comb is a little bigger and turning brighter. It's so sad. She would have been such a pretty hen.It appears to have a walnut comb and is a cockerel![]()
