What type of feed should I give my chicks?

I have heard that they will peck each other more if they eat meat, but am not sure if that’s true or not...

Nope. Not true. In fact, they may peck/eat each others' feathers if they don't have a high enough protein content in what you feed them. Best thing to do is just get a good brand of chick-starter from a reputable feed store. Also, there are a lot of articles here about raising chicks from hatching on up. Go to the forums and read some of the things in "incubating and raising chicks". TONS of excellent information there, from lots and lots of very experienced people who've raised chickens for years and years!

I used Purina start and grow organic crumbles. They really like it.

That’s what we use as well and everybody loves it

We like purina chick starter. Like @Kdlevesque said, you can get it a tractor supply co. The chicks love it!
