the first one has great coloring and the splash is pretty as well the blk copper i would have as a lawn ornament.

Here is another pic of the blue copper rooster. Sorry about the pics, I jsut got this camera for christmas and this grandma is learning how to use it. I am aiming for darker eggs, would like to learn more about them and the genetics. It is all a bit mind boggling, but if I am going to raise them, I want to cull and make improvements. I won't sell any until I know ALOT more of what I am doing. We will eat the culls and have no issues about that. The eggs we are getting are about 4 on the scale. I just got an egg card in the mail a few weeks ago.

Are you sure this is the Blue Copper? It looks like the Black Copper to me. :) Darker eggs in my book, is my long term goal and if they get darker along the way I consider it a bonus......I strive to maintain original egg color that I started out with almost 5 years. If I get consistant egg color out of each generation I am happy. I have made progress in my Splash Coppers egg colors, but it has been alot of selective breedings, hatching, culling and most of all.......alot of hurrying up and waiting for them to mature and lay.

what about splash over black would that be blue babies also or does it have to be black copper

Splash over black or black over splash, either way will produce 100% blue offspring. If black or splash offspring show up in offspring produced then the assumed black bird is not really black, but very dark blue that looks black instead.
