What type of paint should I use on the outside of my chicken coop

We just built our chicken coop and did not get a chance to paint it before we brought our chickens home. What type/brand should we use? I do not want to harm my chickens

I'm sorry but have no idea on the paint. I think if you post your question on the coops forum, you will get answers.

Glad you could join us here! I see you have posted in the coop section, I'm sure members there will be able to help you out with what to use. I did paint my coops but before I added the birds. I used a garden paint that's safe for animals and kids so figured it would be safe for my birds too. The paint was not a strong smelling one and I've had no problems at a with my coops.
