I am having a hard time finding pine shavings that don't produce a lot of dust.

I don't like the little bitty shavings from Tractor Supply and have been using a larger flake from Sun Coast Bedding and one from Crisiles (sp) out of Houston. However, I seem to be getting more dust/dirt than usual. I thought at first it was because of the rain, and the birds were tracking in mud that turned to dust. Not so. It has been dry for several weeks now and the dirt underneath the shavings is really deep.

Hey Carla, I have horses and many times my feed store will get different brands depending on what is available I guess. They are always different,,,some big and fluffy (which I love) some like sawdust and small, and some very dusty which usually is the small sawdusty type. It can even be the same brand and each bag will sometimes be different. Of course whatever I get for the horses I use for the chickens and I derfinately like the big fluffy ones better. Many of the ones I get come out of Canada but the big fluffly babies get my vote.
