Those appear to be Appenzeller Spitzhaubens, not Polish. The two in the back..they aren't "laced" I don't think...do they have a specific name for their coloring?
(6 weeks old)
Would the lacing be more defined though? Or does it change as they age?Looks like they are going to have beards, so I don't think they are Appenzeller Spitzhaubens. I think they are silver laced Polish.
It just depends. Where did they come from? Backyard breeder, hatchery?Would the lacing be more defined though? Or does it change as they age?
Tractor supply... I know not everyone loves them but so far my littles are healthy and happy. Just not sure what any of them areIt just depends. Where did they come from? Backyard breeder, hatchery?
I have no problem with TSC. Just wanted to know because if it was from a breeder they could've been mixed, but that is not likely with TSC.Tractor supply... I know not everyone loves them but so far my littles are healthy and happy. Just not sure what any of them are![]()
Thanks so much for your help! It's greatly appreciated. They are so fun.I have no problem with TSC. Just wanted to know because if it was from a breeder they could've been mixed, but that is not likely with TSC.
I think I am seeing beards, in which case they aren't Spitzhaubens. But if I am mistaken and there are not beards then they likely are Spitzes.
Laced birds, especially from hatcheries, can be variable. I guess you will know what they are as they grow. But I can't think of any other variety of Polish they could be.
Thank you! They are quite adorable and so much fun. I never saw such a quirky animal beforeSilver laced Polish! Yes, as they age and go through their juvenile molt, their lacing will become more defined. That’s exactly how my girls started out. Yours are gorgeous!
