My pap has bags of sand in the bed of his truck for winter.. He said I can have it for my chickens in the spring/summer. It's All Purpose Sand by Quikrete, and I've seen that it does have different sizes of grit/pebbles' in it.. Will it be ok for my chickens??

Im sure it will be fine. if there are any large pieces of sand the chickens will pick it up for grit anyway.

Depends on how and where you will use it.
Sand is not often the best choice for coop bedding or run.
Read up on it....read a lot!

Advanced search>titles only>sand

That is the same kind I buy at my local Home Depot for the run that is off of my coop....no issues so far (except not planning the drainage well enough). I throw a little PDZ and DE in with it too...mostly because my ducks make the sand pretty damp pretty quick.
