What type of sand to use in outdoor run?

I wanted to try using sand in my chickens' outdoor run, but I wasn't sure which type. What type of sand do you use/recommend?

Get the cheapest sand you can find.

We have construction sand in our coop and run and I love it

I have done the same and put some on the floor in the coup for easy cleaning. If you are not done with the inside put a sheet of linoleum down also. It will prevent the wood from getting dirty also for ease of cleaning.
