What type of silky should I buy?

In my opinion, I like the white ones the best, they look like giant, moving puff balls. If you get them from someone who knows their silkies, you can get really good extremely puffy ones. I would suggest if you could to get a breeding / showing duo, as they make a cute couple. Good Luck!!!

I like the Bearded Silkies. We have an all Black. She is beautiful....we can't find her eyes...
she is so fluffy and all our Silkies have blue ears. We are new to Chickens.

We have Partridge, red, golden, and love them all. We would like White...just to have most colors we prefer. The more fluff...the better....large fluf round tail.

Hello! I have an all white silkie hen, Snowy, who is just beautiful. She's also so fluffy, you can't see her eyes. And you can see those turquoise ear lobes. She's just lovely. I also have a black silkie roo, Stormy, who is cute, but not nearly as beautiful as the white hen.

Just look at some websites, and pic the color that catches your eye. I think the buff and red colored silkies, and the blue are just beautiful as well. To me, it's all in how fluffy they are.

It depends on what color strikes you the most. There are alot of very lovely Silkies out there and nice breeders that breed for good quality.
I have baby Silkies at this time and they are all so adorable. I really like the splash silkies.

Show Quality ones.

The color is up to you, they're all nice, and each one can be favorited by different people, but one thing I always recommend are GOOD quality Silkies. Hatchery ones are just plain ugly, in my opinion. They're ratty looking, have tiny crests, hardly much "silkied" feathering, huge, brain-looking combs, and thin bodies.
