I don't like the way the end of the tail is sticking up. Reminds me of a rattler!

I don't mind snakes if they are not poisonous and don't bother my animals. I always relocate far away.
I'm glad you didn't jump to conclusions and kill it.I know it was not venemous because there are only 6 types of venomous snakes in nc and only 3 in the mountains where I am located. Also, it had the round face and large eyes with round puples. I really think it was a juvenile eastern rat snake (also known as black rat snake) because it had the same gray back pattern and brownish black spots. Also eastern rst snakes are the most common in this area. I have seen many since I moved here.
They do that to trick predators into thinking they are a rattlesnake and leave them alone.I don't like the way the end of the tail is sticking up. Reminds me of a rattler!
