what u get when u cross a silver an golden sebright?

OK I'm glad you posted a pic of the roo, seeing him now, he is what I am talking about with the silver with the yellow sheen, or not PURE silver LOL

With the hens, by PURE, I mean that from a cross of a silver rooster on golden hens, you will get hens pure to the silver gene just as you would when crossing two silvers.

Same with the golden rooser on silver hens, you will get hens pure to the gold gene just as you would if you had crossed two silvers.

It is the roosters that would not be pure to the gene and would have silver and gold mixed together, like with yours.

So with your rooster on the golden hens, I believe you should still get half goldens( of both sexes), silver hens, and the yellow sheen roos.

I hope someone knows cause I was curious about that also ... i am ordering some buffs/silver/golden as long as it all works out... I found a place that has all three ...

REALLY?? Thats wild! I am still hazy about it but you answer my main question...what am I gona get!

So this is not all bad then.
Next question, [you KNEW there was gona be more] Can I tell the little roos apart, I mean the ones with the gold sheen from the PURE when they are real small???

On other threads is this what is called a SPLIT?

I raise Silkies, and understand the Blue/Black /Splash thing [not hard] THIS is much harder, I guess the sex thing has lots to do with it, since it matters not what color the roo or hen is.

I put the SL roo in with the hen...the Buff roo was very mean and hateful and scared me to even feed and water them. Got some really cute chicks though, all seem to be Buff.

Here they are with Blue Silkie hatch mates.

Do I have to go away now as I promised??
