What variety is on your table on Thursday?

We'll be having our 1st BR for Thanksgiving. He was 5 months old and finished out at 12-13 lbs. I'm excited to try it and nervous to cook it as we are having the company this year.

We hoped to have our Bourbon Red, Chicker, but as it got closer to the big day my 7 yr old doesn't think he is big enough(ie. she does't want him to die!) Looks like Prime Rib this year!

I'm working on Thanksgiving, so we had a single breast from a 29lb BBB today for early-T-Day... the rest is in the fridge resting, some go into the freezer and some to a fellow BYCer, along with the 32lb BBB.

Mr. Christmas may become Mr. Easter, as I'm going to be eating turkey I've butchered for months, not even counting the tom and hen I have left!!!

We butchered 2 Standard Bronze/Royal Palm cross toms on Friday. We haven't weighed them. I think they were about 18 lbs & 22 lbs. We'll roast the bigger one and smoke the smaller, both will be brined overnight with the little one in a made up on the spot spicy brine:)

I got a store turkey from Kroger this year-thanks to Jenjscott, I should have RPs next year! Mmmmmmmmmm.........
On a side note, my tom tried to roast himself under the heat lamp I had in the brooder! I smelled smoke when I was feeding the birds, but I didn't see anything until he came to get a drink-his feathers all over his back are burned from the lamp!
