What vax do you use on your new chicks?

I was thinking if you hatched them yourself. I have been looking at supply catalogues and they have many different vaxes. I am wonering if I should get them all or what most people use.

Check with your local extension to see what birds in YOUR AREA come down with.
Gail Damerow in Storey's Guide to Raising Chickens says DON"T vax against everything, only what is needed.

I guess it would be like vaccinating your own baby against malaria when you live in Maine.
Vaccines CAN make people or animals sick.

I vaccinate against nothing and I would guess most people who hatch their own don't either. Mostly just those who live in an area where there is a high risk for something, hatch a ton of chicks that they sell, or have very expensive birds.

I have both ordered chicks with vaccines, and without, and never had a problem with either. I also have newly hatched chicks about 2 weeks old, and they have no vaccinations and seem to be fine...I think with a smaller flock its easier to keep everyone healthy...I guess it all just depends on what you are comfortable with, if you feel better getting them vaccines do it, but mine have been fine without...I have heard of the use of apple cider vinegar added to the water helps prevent something, but I dont remember what, sorry! not much help??!!
