Just build a fasr/easy/cheap "Saw-horse" shelter... get saw-horse braces and 2x4s for a frame-- cover the whole thing with chicken wire and one end in tarp (over the wire) and add a heat lamp (if necessary where you live)
Figure if done so that the base of the sawhorse frame is at least 5ft wide-- 1 linear foot of structure for every 2 birds...
you may end up "going to freezer" earlier than 5 months...so noise may not be an issue!

I'll take each crow as that chicken saying, "pick me! pick me!" and that will be the end of that roo. Whatever the age.......you crow, you're freezer bound!
I live in utah, probably only two hours from you......I have been thinking about getting barred rock roo.......I just worry about upsetting the neighbors with a cock a doodle doo in the mornings.

The neighbors will LOVE it! Come get one or two or 20! What city are you in??? I even have a Buff Orp roo I'll throw in for ya! He'll be freezer bound in the next week or two himself!
LOL...It's very tempting......How old is your buff orp roo? and.... how much would you charge for the buff and one barred rock roo? Not sure I want two roo's cock a doodling. I live in Wayne County! I lived in Price for 3 years, about 7 years ago......love it there! Have you thought about putting them in the paper.....maybe giving some away for free even!
