What was the name if your first broody girl?

My first broodies were Bertha and Martha. Bertha was the main "sitter" the first 17 days, then Martha took over. They are salmon faverolles and their babies hatched May 20, 21, and 25th. My third and current broody is Chelsea, a mixed banty, who is sitting on not only her eggs and the other banty's eggs, but also 2 of the fav's and 2 unidentified eggs from a friend. Can't wait, love those baby chickies.

In my childhood the first I remember was "Granny" a VERY large light Brahma.

Since then "Necky" a partridge rock. she was unsuccessful.

At present I have "Broody" a wheaten Ameraucana... she has 9 eggs under her and I don't mind if she gets out of the nest during the middle of the day as the temps were well over 100. I doubt she will be successful either. We're letting her do it for the experiment.

Ella Enchanted--She's an EE hen and is broody again. Her chicks are only 7 weeks old, she kicked them to the curb 2 weeks ago, layed for a week and is sitting on a hidden nest. I'm hoping to find the little brat tomorrow and move her to one of the broody pens ('cause wherever she is it's not safe!)and put some turkey eggs under her. My daughter named her, she went with Ella Enchanted because the initals are EE.

My first was a BO and since all my BOs look alike, we have trouble keeping names straight. So we rarely name the look-alikes. We called this hen "Mama Hen". She has since returned to her BO anonymity.

our first broody was a BO also, we named her Broody Judy while she raised her chicks, then she returned to her BO anonymity as well LOL! Now we have another broody and though I'm not sure if it is the same girl this time we've named her Broody Judy while she raises her babies

My first broody was a cochin bantam named Millie. She hatched out some SSH eggs that my partridge cochin bantam roo had fertilised about a year ago. Very beautiful roosters, but they got agressive, and so became fox food. Millie just died one day, for no apparent reason. No more broodies.

My second was a white rock bantam. She was broody for only a little bit before I had to break her. It was december in WI, for goodness' sakes! What was she thinking?

Her name was Annabelle. We left the coop open one night and her, along with my little bantam flock was eaten by raccoons.
