    He was alive last on delivery. Passed soon after. I was just hoping to know what this is and is it something I can fix next time.[​IMG]

    Was it a shipped chick? Did you have them vaccinated? I've seen something KIND OF like that, when I was giving my hens IV antibiotics.. Apparently I missed, and the hen that had the shot got a large fluid filled area on her neck like that [​IMG] She recovered, but that's the only thing that I can think of.

    first time I ordered and they were vac. It did come swelled neck and then died.

    It could very well be the same thing then. I know when I gave the shot to mine, she was ok, but the next day there was a fluid filled area about the size of a .50 cent piece.

    yea that does look like a reaction to the vaccination... [​IMG] I don't think it happens often... sorry bout your chick!

    You may want to contact the hatchery or place that you received it from know.

    puncture on the trachea, air leaked into the neck cavity and unable to escape.
