Ohhhhh I forgot those to!!!

I got one.

Dark Shadows!

My mom never wanted me to watch Dark Shadows, but my grandma was hooked and she let me watch with her. I LOVED that show.

We didn't watch much TV as kids. During the summer we were gone from sun up to sundown, except for checking in at lunch and dinner times. We did watch Dark Shadows just about everyday. One of our places to play was in the cemetary at the top of the hill at the end of our road. There was a Collins cript too!! lol Most kids play cowboys and indians, We re-enacted the show the day before, lol.

During the school year we would watch more tv. Cold and dark in NJ by 5pm in the winter. As a kid we had 5 TV stations, F-I-V-E! "regular" channels (VHF) 3, 6, 10 and UHF channels 17 and 48.

Wee Willie Webber Show on channel 17 out of Philly. All the shows that are now considered "anime" type shows now days. AstroBoy, Speed Racer, AquaBoy, also UltraMan. Banana Splits Show was on channel 48.

My folks didn't believe in letting us stay up either! I had to be in bed by 8:00 everynight until I was in the 7th grade when it went up to 9pm. My freshman year it went up to 11pm but I had to get up at 6 to walk 1.8miles to school (I was .2miles from catching a bus, lol) so I didn't stay up that late unless it was the weekend.

My favorite Saturday Morning cartoon was Johnny Quest. It was the last one on. Then we would run up town with a dollar to catch a double feature, small popcorn and a small drink!! If there was no dollar it was Dr.Shock on channel 17. Old time horror movies. Elvira came along much much later, lol.

When I was about 17 or so, my nephew and I would stay up late and watch scary movies on Saturday. His mom blames me for his teenaged obsession with goulish things, lol. He's grown up into a pretty good guy who now sits up and watches anime with his daughter!

ETA---I almost forgot!! Sunday evenings, The Wonderful World of Disney!!! AWESOME!!! Justin Morgan Had a Horse, The Scarecrow of Romine Marsh, Nature videos with slow action filming, The Biscuit Eater, Davey Crocket and Daniel Boone, Goofy as the crazy guy behind the wheel, Walt himself introducing what was going to be on the show, Tigers on his desk!

Oh, The Wonderful World of Disney - that was a great show, always something different, always something good. Wholesome comes to mind - find wholesome out there in the decadent world of television nowadays
