What will help these Muscovies want to hang around after I catch them?

We had 2 drakes fly into the river below our home so I started feeding them first with out the xpen up then after a week put up the x pen and kept closing it up closer every night till the one morning when i went down to feed them and one went in I was able to close it with him inside caught him and brought him up to the house clipped his wing, he's way to heavy to fly now it's been about 3 years for the one, the other one did the same thing but he can still fly even with a clipped wing if he can get up on the bank behind our house so to keep them here: you give them girl ducks and good food, and a nice warm safe place to sleep and in that order..

So, I will have to provide them with some water, right? This means I will have to locate the pen a little further from the house. It would have been nice to be able to have them close-by to watch them.

BirdBrain I found the link you suggested for clipping their wings. Thank you!

I'm getting the Muscovies for free. If clipping their wings puts them at greater risk from predators, I may choose not to clip. If some fly away, I'll just go catch some more. I really like to watch them fly anyway. I'd hate to lose some to predators just because I clipped their wings.

Thawed corn, peas, worms, bread GOLDFISH??!!, wheat, and mealworms. Theses suckers will be feasting in the beginning. Then, they will have the best foraging in the world. Just so long as they stay.

I don't clip their wings. Mine fly around more than they fly away. Sometimes they fly up on the back deck to watch me through the window. ;)They know where their dinner and treats come from and don't go far from home. Pen them up for a couple of weeks, provide them plenty of fresh water and food they love and they'll know where home is real quick.
