What will it look like as adult??

My broody hatched this little chick yesterday. It is a cross of a Buff Orpington rooster & a Barred Rock hen. Anybody have any pictures of this cross as adults. I'm praying it is a hen.

Sorry, neighbor. That combo makes a black sex link if they are purebred and that looks like a roo to me, with that yellow on its head. When grown, it should look a lot like a barred rock in color, probably with a little buff-red leakage around the neck. It may have more Orpington configuration, but barred rock in color.

Hope I'm wrong.

This shows you what you SHOULD get. Give it a couple weeks, if you start seeing barring, it's a roo.

Yep it's a roo for sure, I've done the same cross for sexlinks, here are mine.

pullets are black and gold, roos are silver/barred.

Wow!!! I was hoping for a hen but I would rather have a roo that looks like that instead of my Buff Orpington roo. I hope he makes it because my Buff Orp roo is mean & is about to be re-homed. Thanks!!!
