Okay, so one of my hens went broody for the first time and I used eggs from my own chickens so I can get a feel for what kind of mother she's going to be before trying to put boughten, expensive eggs under her in the future. There's 5 eggs under her and they are all still alive, so I was just kind of curious as to what they might end up looking like ( if they hatch ) once they're older if anyone has had experience with making these crosses? Two of the eggs are definitely from my ISA Browns, one definitely from my Leghorn, but the last two are either from my black sex-link or black australorp hens.

Sorry for this absolute insanity, it's easier for me to read. I shouldn't have added the BA x BA, because that's the only one I know what would look like haha

Your isa browns and sex links are already a mix. Adding in the barred rock, leghorn and black astralorp adds more possibilities. I would expect to see quite a few orange chicks (RIR) and some black chicks with a white dot on head (BR)
My flock is a many generation mix that I have been working on for years. Every so often I get a throw back to a silky rooster I had 8 years ago, or that pair of samaras I got for mothers day in 2010. You cant miss that sleek shiny black feathering. I get extra toes, partial top knots, and eggs of every size and color.
It makes each hatch exciting, never knowing what I will get.
GOD likes a variety and so do I.
Let us know when hatch happens.
Best of luck.

oh, I know, it’s going to be a mix bag. I was just wanting to know what I could possibly be expecting when the lil peepers get here haha. the first set should hatch the 21st and then the rest sometime after. There’s also the issue of me not knowing which rooster got to which hen either lol. It’ll be like playing Maury for chickens.

The first and 2nd crosses will produce a lot of red and black birds, red birds, and black birds and paint birds, many of them with barring. A huge variety, enough that I’d be curious to see what you get.
The Br/RIRXBA will get you leaky single barred offspring, though half of the pullets will be black.
Assuming the Leghorn is white, BR/RirxLH will produce paints with maybe a little leakage.
CMCxISA is will get you leaky single barred offspring, though half of the pullets will be black.
This covers the offspring for the most part, since you probably won't be able to tell which came from which cross it doesn't really matter a lot.

Sorry about being so vague but we could be here next year if I described all of the possible combinations. Crossing crossbreeds together brings a huge variety of offspring.

when you say paint, what do those look like? google was being dumb and kept wanting to bring up things on how to draw and paint chickens and I'm still learning. I first became a chicken tender back in March. Anyways, yes, the leghorns are white. I knew I was forgetting to mention something, that usually happens. I planned on adding pictures of the chicks and again when they were full grown and feathered to this thread eventually. Thanks for this, though, you really went more in-depth than what I figured was possible given how many of the possible dads & moms are crosses.

I attached pictures of my crosses ( except for the isa browns )

You could get a lot of different looking chickens from this. Possible offspring could be white with scattered black spots (paint), paint except with barred spots, white with red leakage, black with silver leakage, black with red leakage, all black, barred with red leakage, barred with silver leakage, all red with barring, white with red leakage and barring, solid black with barring, and I’m sure there are other possibilities too.

here’s what the chick that hatched looks like. which I’m assuming would end up with the paint look once it gets feathers in? though, this is probably the only chick I’m going to have now. my dad didn’t think to call me to say nelly was off the nest because her chick fell out. the rest of the eggs were left for 5 hours with only a heating plate my dad put over them instead of asking/calling me what he should do. didn’t find this all out until I got off from work. i had checked her before I left around 6:40 ish and he checked her around 8-9 then did “what he thought was the right thing to do” for 5 hours until I got off of work at 2pm. my cousin was already coming over with an incubator ( so this kind of thing would’ve been avoided, go figure ) and we went ahead and put them in it...we’ll see.

sorry for this rant, im still angry

Yep, paint. Or paint with some red leakage. Sorry about the other eggs.
