What will the egg weigh when pipped?? Contest win 6 free silkie eggs!!

I weighed a silkie egg and wrote on its weight before I put it in the incubator.... it weighed in at 39.6 grams. Do you think it will weigh more or less on day 20 than it does today... if so by how much??


Who ever wins closest to the weight as the egg pips (as long as it does weigh is differant) will win 6 silkie eggs. (just pay shipping)

I was told I must make rules. so here goes.

we will give a week to guess so contest ends may 12th and winner will be announced by the 28th. One entry/guess per person, each guess must be diffrant. and be in the format of 00.0 grams (cause thats how they weigh thing weighs.)

In the event the egg ends up being infertile... I'm sorry I tried! but the girls have been laying good eggs so it shouldn't be a problem.

I think they get lighter but denser in the area that the chicke is in. The egg loses weight due to vaporation. Perhaps the egg feels heavier because it is less balanced once the chick creates a "weight" in one end of the egg.
