I forgot to mention the amazing egg production on leghorns as well. They're not as great in the meat department, though. I'd also consider white leghorns because they're just so sweet and wonderful. (you can see my girl in my avvy)I agree with the dual purpose something I should really consider more!!!
Blue Cochins are on my list too!
Probably brahmas...I just love their looks! If you had to choose one breed to start off with for breeding to sell chicks and eggs what breed would be your first choice and why?! Feel free to add runner ups!
and possibly lavender orp******sI would probably chose,
Silkies
Cochins
Speckled Sussex
Ameraucanas
Or Marans

Cochins check all those boxes for me, but I really like the columbian patterning on brahmas, and the pea combs I think look really cute on them.I don't have any but I know someone who does and they seem so big, cute, and look like great mamas
How did you put the letters and stuff on the eggs?I had 2 black Australorps, one died, but they both layed the darkest brown eggs!!! I kept wondering if they were indeed Marans but was told no! They are very sweet and pretty girls!View attachment 2465794View attachment 2465795
