I dont know Wynette. I think you might get brown red. Well I think the only 2 colors in chickens is black and gold. and then the other genes are modifiers and enhancers. Someone correct me if I am wrong, I am only learning this myself. I think a lot is trial and error . Too bad chickens didnt come with a gene manual

that hen is pretty,,,,Is she a silver?

Oh a gene manual would be quite helpful! I think you're probably right on brown/red. Thanks, Tiki!

I dont knwo what you would get? I just wanted to say they are both pretty, I really like the hen.

Your EE hen looks like Bertha one of my EEs, she lays the prettiest light teal eggs!
And your roo is so handsome....let us know if you decide to hatch some......

Your birds are very pretty. Question, what is the difference in brown/red and wheaton? My ameraucana roo looks alot like yours but I always considered him a wheaton. I compared him to pictures on John Blehms sight and others. Unless a chicken is all black, white, red or buff, I can't tell for sure what color it is. Guess I need to study up on chicken colors. Your hen is beautiful but I would not have known it was a silver, maybe silver laced something? Guess I should stay with black, white, red and buff. My grandson asked me what we would get if we crossed a red roo and white hen. I told him a pink chicken.

I have a lot to learn.

If you look at this page
http://www.ameraucana.org/scrapbook.html
you will see pictures of all the recognized colors of true ameraucanas. EE'rs have no recognized color patterns.
