What would you do if...

No, I get the point. There isn't anything anyone can do when people aren't "up to par" in their breeding. No one can change it, no one can control it.

To make it right, the seller either gives them the right thing or gives them their money back.

Edited to add: I guess you can have some control. Word of mouth and reputations are a powerful thing.

yup... but as soon as you sense hostility or offensive wording, just take it as a loss... not all propagators are going to be understanding or reasonable enough to replace them to fix their mistakes...

You're missing a key point. Cochins don't have beards. Period. That's not a mistake, that's poor breeding. How do you make that right?

do they look like cochins...? or really large d'uccle...? lol... sorry, but they could just be chicks from their other stock...

and no offense, but are you sure they are bearded...? when i got my LF cochins and bantam cochins, i liked them as chicks because they had huge heads and looked like they were bearded with all that fluff under their beaks... they look like they have gigantic heads compared to other chicks i've had... but if they are feathering out, and you notice actual feathers pointing straight down, then yeah... it's bearded... could be EE-cochin mix... sorry...

Are you sure they aren't from sizzle breeding? I've seen people call the smooths that didn't inherit most of the silkie features cochins, and that isn't right, at least not without a thorough conversation about the breeding background, but mostly I think it is ignorance. It could be bred BACK to meet cochin standards, but that isn't a single generation thing.
