Hi, I have 6 chickens , all are about 2 years old, in the last several month they quit laying , they are free range during the day and at night get put up. 4 of them were molting starting in October but to this day still no egg. I feed them organic chickenfeed and don't know what could be wrong? We live in Georgia .
Any suggestion. Thank you

Welcome to BYC! Thanks for joining! :welcome

It is normal, in winter they reduce egg production. It could also be because of molting. Are they molting?

I agree with @The-White-Elephant if they are molting? It's that time of year and is normal. Just up their daily protein and that will help with new feather growth. Best of luck! :)

How is the weather? How much light do they have? Chickens oftentimes stop laying in the winter... egg laying is triggered by hours of sunlight. Check also to make sure they are getting enough food and water and that they are not stressed out. If they are actively molting right now that can affect them as well. Also, welcome to BYC!!!!
i was unaware of this untill i had to leave my chickens inthe coop for a couple of days do the the monster storm we just had in virginia. and the weight of the snow crushed their run. i am hoping that now that they are able to go back out in the run they will start laying again
