UGG!!! Hope the rest of the vacation is much better.
I'm so sorry! That's terrible. I mean, sure they can't control the weather but they could at least get you guys some beds and a real meal... I used to fly so often between mom and dad (every other weekend) that I got to be an expert at air travel. Always pack a lunch and bring an empty water bottle. You can't get through security with a liquid filled bottle. I packed snacky-type foods and PB&J sandwiches... no stuff that goes bad easily or needs to be cold or smells funny (egg salad, tuna, etc). I hate airplane food. On top of that they never have vegetarian meals anyway...
I was traveling with my mom, dad, hubby, and daughter traveling to Arizona through NYC.... our plane missed the connecting flight.... and had to fight them to get one hotel room and meal vouchers for us.... my dad was a diabetic on dialysis and was scheduled for dialysis the next day.... they wanted us to sleep in a chair... we said if we wouldn't get a room and meals then they would be looking at an ambulance and hospital trip... so they finally relented and gave us that much. between 5 people we had enough for one pizza from the pizza hut in the hotel that took the meal vouchers... crazy expensive.... then we were on a wait list for the first flight out in the AM.... so not a pleasant experience. Hope for the best for you and your trip.
