It was hard to hold her and get a good pix. I got 2 chocolate BaMs from pips'n'peeps today. They are project birds a d need 2-3 more generations to set everything. I have a black BaM in the brooder I am hoping is a little roo and a few more eggs in the bator just in case. Hopefully by this time next year I will have a little chocolate BaM flock
Just lovely! What a great project for you - we all LOVE chocolate!

Should I cull it has no eyes? It seems to be following the other chicks around and eating ok

I don't know what to do. I mean if it buddies up with another Serama it could be a pet, I guess. Woud you cull? I would not breed it.

I would cull it. With no eyes it is probably gonna end up and die anyway.

Cute pics of the babies.

I dont think you should cull it unless its in pain or starving todeath and you dont have time to feed it. All babies are special. I have seen pics and stories of chickens and other animals with no eyes or one leg ect and they usually do just fine

If you were closer I'd be able to hook you up with a few black cockerels.

Lol I was wondering. I have a LF black roo I wonder if I could breed up and keep the same quality and color? I could do a little experiment while I m waiting or the BaM roo to grow up or hatch. :p it's gonna be a long winter. I already had a "talk" with the little chick telling it , it better be a he and he had a big job to do. Lol ;)

I was thinking Black Ameraucana, not bantam. I can't help you there. I was chatting with Judges4 tonight and said I'm kind of dense today. Lol
You're not dense, you're just tired :)

I was told that breeding LF black Eng Orps to maintain color would be fine with the bantam choc Eng orps, it would just increase their size.
