JIm, Here is pic of the Welsummer pullet I hatched from you. I got three eggs, two Welsummer and one Ameraucana, and all three hatched. The Am turned out to be a cockerel and I sold the Welsummer cockerel to a local man looking for one for his hens. I really like this pullet. She has the nicest temperament and I hope she will be laying soon.

Unfortunalely, I do not have the place to separate another breed right now, but perhaps we can come to an "agreement". How about you house the Welsummer flock at your place and I Paypal you the money for feed, bedding, supplements, etc? We can work out details by PM if you might be interested in this. Let me know.

Jim,

Are you keeping your lemon Cuckoo? I have 2 eggs that are going into lockdown. One Icelandic made it. If you are not keeping them, I would love to see about maybe getting some of your birds, or maybe some more eggs from you? Then if you do sell, and want them again, I will have some of your work?

Mary and Susan, I'll PM you when I'm done with chores.

Betta, I'm listing some eggs tonight on the 24 hour auction. With all the weather changes, the girls have sure slowed down.

Oh my gosh, she is shipping out already. It doesn't seem that long ago that she started the process. Is she enjoying what she is doing so far? You must be very proud of all the hard work she has done to get where she is. If I remember right, she had some pretty impressive test scores to get into the type of job she might like. I'll continue to think about and pray for your family with this separation. May she have a safe journey.
X 7 or 8 or whatever!!! Good luck to her!!!

Em, I'm going to have to buy some when I have some money. The incubator fried everything in it, including your paints and hen's choice.

Oh... so sorry to heat that!!

Hmmm.. So why is it all the good looking ones are jerks?

DH does not like the word "Jerk". He much preferr's to be called a wild donkey. Funny, I'd rather be called a jerk.

Btw, I could always return the favor with the coturnix. Maybe others who have your eggs could do the same?

Thanks. My dairy herd just went last week. At least the people that were milking them for me bought the herd. I've been saying I've lost just about everything else in the last year, I'm not losing my chickens too but its not fair to them. At least I can maybe. Back and do better with what I have.
I am so sorry Jim!:hugs

I need help. I have noticed eggs missing from under my broody silkies this has been going on for months and I thought they were eating the eggs. Well when I looked and there were 5 eggs missing from under her from just last night, I recovered 4 of them and 1 was right up next to a hole under the ground.

DO I have a rat problem and how do I take care of it without harming my chickens. My worthless barn cats aren't doing there job and ever since I lost my faithful flock protector dog in 2011 she used to get the rats my other dogs won't. Now I have a problem. If it is rats they are taking the eggs from my broody silkie hens every time my silkies go broody.

Sounds like rats...no clue how to rid of them...except poison and I won't use that in my barn.

That's what I thought. I am afraid to use poison because of the chickens, Cats & dogs.

Personally I don't care if it is humane for the rat or not they are vial, Filthy creatures. (Sorry if this offends anyone) So any help on what I can do without using poison would be great. I am willing to try anything before this gets out of control.
