Yum..... My girls are no longer in Girl Scouts and I miss the cookies. Lucky we have friends with kids in Scouts.![]()
Hasn't been my week for chicks! First the incident with the shipped chicks all arriving DOA, and then today I discovered that the light burned out in the incubator with all the other eggs I bought to hatch for my DD for 4H. I don't know when it when out (we were gone all day yesterday at a charity event) and when I checked today it was cold. Temp said 74* and the eggs were all cold. I'll leave them in there a few days but I'm not hoping for much.
I need to get my Rcom 20 fixed. That has been on my honey do list for over 2 years and I'm still waiting.
Back to cookies..............much more pleasant

Thank you very much! 2 dark ones and a light one. I think they were all marked 4.![]()
Quote: Thanks, Jim. I have a Bjarthur egg that is doing fine because it was in my little 3 egg incubator. They others I will candle in the next couple of days and see. I candled a few right away, still had good veining but I didn't see movement in any that I looked at. The temperature swings certainly have messed up the hens laying. The rainy/icy stuff that you have in Iowa has turned into 8" so far of snow for us today with more on the way tonight. The kids are hoping for a snow day, but I'm not sure that will happen. My birds were not enjoying more time stuck in the coop, but at least its warmer and more manageable than the crudy below 0* highs we were having. I'll take the snow over the cold any day. Sorry for all those with the icy weather this weekend, that is always so scary to get around in (on foot or vehicle). Everyone, stay safe and warm!

I'll try to get pics tomorrow.:![]()
If they were marked 4 they are from a single mating of Dreki and Kella. If they were 14, they were Bjarthur with Dreki daughters by Kella and Brynhildur (RIP sweet girl) and one Bjarthur daughter Drifa. I can't wait to see pictures.
Yay! Do we get to see pictures. Going through fuzzybutt withdrawl here!Jim! I have Icelandic chicks!

Some are not laying, some are. Then there are some (Sussex) who tease me daily..... I sometimes get 4 eggs from the pen, then the next day I get one..... So I am not taking any more orders / swaps on them until I fill what I have.
