Gahh! I've really stalled it? Going to bed, if we need to roll back in the am go for it, I'd like to sleep in.

Are differnt breeds harder to ship healthy. I have ordered two different batches of silkies *
(One from ebay and obe private sale) and I got the duck eggs from silkie sensation and a batch of crele old english (ebay) all the bantams hatched the ducks are developing good. But the silkies nothing ever happened, no development. All same incubator and I have hatched out 22 chicks in it this year. So are silkies harder to incubate after shipping?

It all just depends on how they were handled by the PO & the general health of the parent stock. If none even started, you may want to crack them open to check for fertility. If some started & quit early it was likely rough handling by the PO. Late quitters are more likely weak parent stock.

I cracked the last ones it honestly didn't look fertile. They were from a breeder in texas that raises the paint silkies with a very good reputation. I was hoping for some cute little silkie babies.

I rarely ever get anything to hatch that comes from prchases off of ebay. I normally have certain people I will buy from and that is b/c I get great hatch rates from their shipped eggs. If you're looking for Silkies, and want great hatch rates, try Emvickery or Reesepoultry or Bhep. I get the best hatch rates from their eggs.

I've definitely found Silkies to be much harder to hatch from shipped eggs...

If they didn't look fertile, I would contact the breeder & let them know. They may be having a fertility issue with that pen & didn't know when they collected your eggs.

Haha that's pretty much my life since I got a hatcher... Besides the profit part.

I got a lg bator for a hatcher because when my dh was at the feed store a random guy came up and tapped him on the shoulder and gave him a $20 gift card. So my sweet dh got the bator for $30 out of pocket! I was worried because they are so basic and my hatch rate with my hovabator was so so, but it turns out when they get to the lockdown stage they don't need much besides humidity. My bator hasn't been turned off since!
Btw I got a "factory blemished" brinsea Eco 20 for 1/3 the price and it is the best thing ever! So easy and my hatch rates have been awesome.

Its the best little secret around. You just call brinsea and ask what they have in terms of factory blemished incubators- give them model names that you are interested in. Factory blemished incubators work just as good as the rest, they just got banged up in the factory so they aren't as pretty. Mine at first look appears to have hairline cracks in the plastic but if you touch it it's smooth. My husband says this happens when the plastic gets too hot when it's being made, but doesn't actually affect the plastic.
I can't believe how reliable my bator is. I love it and have had no problems.
