I have heard they are as big as your thumbnail! Is that true?

Lana, this pix is of 3 day old button quail chicks next to a quarter

And they grow fast, so littler when hatched, of course.

That's it!
So scrumptious! I wish I could get them right again. Maybe it was the brand of butter I used ......

I assure you all, I am NOT a cook.

Button quail are basically "look at" pets. They stress easily and don't like to be handled.

They do lay eggs really well a good part of the year. I use many of their eggs to feed back to my Serama and dogs. Many small reptile owners keep them for the eggs, the eggs are perfect little size for some small snakes and lizards.

Our DD just had this surgeery yesterday, ACL replaced and Menicus repaired. She went home same day, no crutches just a knee brace, meds for infection control and pain control, TIMS unit for swelling and pain control, has to leave on the dressings for 4 days and then she can shower and pat dry the incission. Times sure has changed this surgery, nothing like when I had it. Hope your surgery goes as well as DDs did

Hope your daughter does well. She will be up and around in no time;-)

She walked out of the hospital that evening and can increase bearing weight on the knee as she feels she can. It's amazing how fast and how much progress has been made on alot of different surgeries done today. What use to require a hospital stay is now an outpatient surgery, in and out the same day. Boggles ones mind
