I'm wondering if my little disabled chick was unable to get out of the shell because of a leg deformity instead of being stuck in the shell causing the leg problem. She stil isn't straightening out...

To make matters worse, I think she is the only pullet, and the other two are roos...

Seems like Murphy's Law, doesn't it? So sorry! What is wrong with her leg?

Quote: Sounds like dislocated hips which is very hard to repair because they counstancely dislocate and have to be put back in place, I hate to say it, but unless the legs can be hobbled the best thing for the chick would be to cull it. I tried saving one of mine and as it grow older and had to place its weight on his legs the problem got worst. Wish I could help more, do you have a picture - it might not be as bad as I'm picturing it. I just fixed one that had one hip dislocated.

Been stalking the WYGS for awhile now and thought I would say hello.

I have three 4 week old chicks to my name and would love to get my hands on some Welsummer eggs. Who do I have to stalk? Lol

I have Wellies, but they have decided to siesta for awhile till the weather straightens out here. We've gotten 1.5 ft of snow two weeks in a row, to add to the amount that was already on the ground. Very unusual, even for Minnesota. My chickens are not impressed with the drifts in their runs. Crazy, crazy Spring!
