I'm thinking that a dollar range would keep items equal... I was thinking like $10, but then shipping and people who have 4+ kids, that'd be $60 minimum! Any input on amounts?
Don't have kids, but I was a preschool teacher for over 5yrs. I think a handmade item should be included. It would have to be age related. But even drawing the a picture would not only keep your kid busy, it would make the receiver feel special because it was made just for them.

Hmm. So maybe just something simple, instead of a box package, maybe like a bubble envelope with a letter (or drawing, especially for the younger ones) and something like $1-$2, like a few sheets of stickers or...??? Just something cool that kids would like. I don't want it to be something huge that's going to cost a fortune for everyone, because in all reality, just getting mail would be exciting for most kids, LOL.

Why not just mix it up in the box put all the names on the box

Because one of the biggest excitements of it is actually getting their own mail. It ruins that part if they have to share a box/envelope. I know my two wouldn't be quite as excited if only one box came, and can imagine that amplified with more children. Especially if all the items were mixed together. My two would squabble over who gets what, lol.

or even just a note to the swappee, like a penpal type of thing....I know my boys would flip a lid to get something in the mail, like that.

That is an awesome idea!! My kids would think that was the coolest thing in the world!! The kids could tell each other about all their chickens and their chicken-crazy moms (or dads)!!! :p

i agree with not shipping one combined for the kids, it's a thrill to my boys when they get individual gifts from their gramma at Christmas...if they didn't, they would be fighting over who opens and who gets what....but count me in!

I agree as well.... Count me in for two kids...

I understand the thought with the kids. I have 3 myself. They never get anything like that in the mail. What about sending 1 item to each kid? If there is enough people doing this and everyone sends 1 item to each they would get more things? Does that make sense?

I got my mini mealworm kit and "Mouse" cookbook from Bea yesterday! Hubby was kinda grossed out by them, but then again, I'm the brave one in the family when it comes to critters.

The beatles and worms looked pretty lively when I got them out of the package. Tomorrow they will be put in a more permanent home. Is there a temperature requirement for them?

keep them between 70-80 if you want them to breed, when you get to many you can put them in the refridgerator or freeze dry them. Just remember to feed and give a handful of bran once a week and you'll do just fine.
