I read about Coturnix, they also sound like a good choice for someone new to quail (like me!). They come in lots of colors?
yes. The standard is Pharoah, the wild type. You'll see manchurian, tibetian, italian, english white and texas a and m ( this does NOT have white meat, its a myth) semi often and roux, rosetta, or red or tuxedo less often.

Then there are the Jame Marie cortunix that will almost weigh one pound at 9 weeks. Their eggs are almost bantam size.

Yes! I regularly get 22 to 26 g eggs from those and his manchurians. They are usually double yolkers. They are bigger then nutmeg my seramas eggs or my little oegb eggs for sure. Not silkie sized however. They also have on occasion shiny gold eggs that look like they have been dipped in laquor. The James Marie quail however can start having heart attacks at 6-8 months due to their size and they really need you to watch the feet long term.

They are big so they are heavy for there skeletal system and can get bumble and other foot issues. They are like the Andre the giant of quail is my guess. This is my first year with them. My manchurians actually lay the biggest eggs I'll see if I can get some pictures . Some just hatched and woke me up lol.
