I've had JB eggs hatching today. Last time I checked there where a dozen. Not many more to go. I didn't have many to begin with. I just set 40 sunday. I don't expect them all to be fertile since about half of them came from new layers. My mother n law sure gets a kick out of the chicks. She's 83 and asks me everyday if there are any new babies. When I take these out tomorrow i'll have to set their brooder up by her chair so she can babysit them. lol

My quail are hooting, so I am hoping that means eggs should show up soon. I am thinking I should put a night light in there, they get startled when I walk by after dark.

I have a red Heat lamp in my stall with them and I notice them basking under it sometimes. They can get away from it or lay under it. Also works good for a night light.

gonna try to get everyone I owe's stuff out in the next day or two. Sorry I'm so slow. Been super busy lately with school starting and new job. Thanks for being patient with me.

I know I owe innerwolfbatik iris, and ruth cookies, also coop scoop's iris but she's waiting for cooler weather. If anyone else is waiting on me please let me know.

I just wanted to give a heads up and remind everyone on the East Coast to please do not forget your pets with hurricane Irene. I will be catching all my Peas and bringing them inside the shed with the chickens for safety from the storm. Connecticut is suppose to be hit with Irene as a catogory 2 hurricane with up to 15 plus inches of rain. The states below CT have to deal with a catogory 4 storm so please bring in your birds so they are safe.
