Got my eggs from Reese, thanks Michelle! So many extras! I can't for the life of me find that little hat, so i'm going to send the rest of the outfits and when it pops up (things usually do) I'll send it along.

So i decided to make a little makeshift perch for the chicks out of a bottle cut in half and a sunflower branch....they're playing limbo and having a blast pecking the heck out of the bottle, its a pretty good workout. They peck for a few minutes, then fall asleep...silly chicks.

Been very busy running around with kids in soccer, volleyball and cross country - never a quiet night. I really need to get working on my winter coops, since my flocks has grown expedentially. Had 11 last year and now have past 50 so far (scared to actually count). I need to find homes for some and hope that many of my chicks are not roosters.

I would like to introduce my 4 month old EE cockeral and his girls (5 months) to my original flock that has one rooster and 8 hens left. Th cockeral is the rooster's son. They have been living in pens right next to each other most of the summer. Will it work? They cannot free range because we have many, many free ranging neighbor dogs, but do have a run that has a few hiding places. Just wanted to ask someone that has more experience with this than me

To those that have gotten eggs from me and eggs have hatched (or didn't) how did your hatches go. I'm curious as to how they've all done. I've heard from some of you. The ones i've hatched done well. Out of the 2 batches I hatched only 1 out of each died in lock down. I had 1 not fertile.



To all - I have 12+ silkie eggs up for auction in the 24 hr auction thread. These eggs I have now and if aren't claimed by tomorrow this time they will go in my bator. I also have an auction up for eggs to be shipped on 10/3 in the BST.

I'm really not ready to start my winter hatching and want to sell these eggs instead of starting my winter hatching early.

So until November I'll be selling the silkie and sizzle eggs.

emvickrey... received 9. All 9 made it to lock down. 1 zipped and did not make it

I went to bed, figuring it would be dry & fluffy in the am but it never progressed, wish I had "helped". And 1 never even pipped. So 7/10 hatched, all are doing great.

We help farm animals when their having a difficult birthing, why not the birds? There's no way I would just stand there and watch a cow or horse or whatever struggling to give birth just to die in the process along with loosing the baby.
