That's a hard question too since the economy is so weird. I've seen people post things and would have got them but I thought the value was low. Then tried to get it at the store and realized the prices are now higher and the swap was a good deal. I avoid posting things that are common a the second hand stores. Like sewing patterns for clothes are really common so I put those on my mix and match page and that way the person can make their swap worth it.

I didn't want to state an actual dollar amount on swap value but kind of a guideline. I think most people will accept a swap that they think is a good value for them. We never know what someone may be looking for so what one of us may think is of little value may be of great value to someone else. Remember the rule if the offer is not taken in 6 hours then it is on the person on the hot seat to offer something else if they can.

I also try to account for shipping-it often costs me $10-12 just to ship 2 jars of jam/ lemon curd/cherry pie filling. If I offer 3 jars, it would be $15-20!

I lurked for a long time before jumping in and just recently got my 2nd swap in and have done 1 side swap ..... figured it is up to the person whether or not it's worth taking since I've seen everything from BYC bumper stickers to goat milk soap. Can't say that what I "mine"d had a value of 12-15 but I'm certainly happy!

I agree. I have been very happy with all my swaps. I don't know if they all were worth $15 but they were worth the swap to me.
