Our little farm cat had kittens last night. She had 4 in all but the huge black one passed away. She is the same cat we had spayed as a kitten...... The last time she was pregnant it was a false one. The vet claims she has no reproductive organs, well SURPRISE! Good thing we no longer use that blasted vet.... The other three babies seem to be fine. One black with white, one light grey almost silver color, and one grey tabby.

I hope everyone has a beautiful day today and a fruitful season!)

I had the opposite happen at a vet. I adopted a cat from the humane society a few years ago and took her in to a new vets to be spayed per the adoption contract. Well after he was done when I was picking her up he slipped. He told me he had never seen a cat with 11 kittens in her before! He spayed her while she was already pregnant! I never would have taken her in to have an abortion if I had known..... He never called me to give me the option! And then the best part he tried to charge me some outragous huge amount for the abortion... I said I don't think so! Every1 just thought she was a large fat cat, she was white like a marshmellow thus her name "smore". Its so sad when the animals suffer for lack of proper care from the people we as owners pay to do the job!

I need some broody hen advice! One of my Swedish Flower Hens has decided to go broody.

She is in my greenhouse/temporary coop with three roosters and 6 other hens, of various kinds. If I can get my rooster cages done today, it will be only two roosters, but 10 other hens. The new chicken coop will hopefully be finished this weekend

. I had been collecting all the eggs, but decided to give her some pullet eggs today that were a day or two old to see if she will hatch them. She already had a Barred Rock egg under her from today. I am planning on building a broody box in the new coop. Do I need to separate her NOW, or will she be OK in with the rest of the hens and roos for a few days? Will it bother her if I do move her when the new coop is finished? I don't really care if she hatches the eggs (I just put some in the incubator today, too!

), but I thought it would be fun to try!

Any advice would be very much appreciated!

I have kept my broody in with the rest. But this last time I had to put my broody in a cat carrier because someone eat one of the chicks. It could have been her and she was just hungry. I would wait a couple of days to make sure she is truly broody and then move her. So you could wait till the new coop is done. If she is truly broody it won't matter where you move her to. And move her at night.
