Rachael has some with feathered legs. It just skipped a generation, but Gabrielle's are carriers.

So, wait, is there a dominant and a recessive feather legged gene?! Well, NOW I'm confused, lol. I guess that explains why marans are sometimes feather legged though, they must have the recessive gene to them, along with the seramas, then the silkies and brahmas have a dominant gene. Crazy stuff. Looks like the dominant gene seems to give better feathering though, even with only one gene, unless the amount of feathering on the leg is a whole new set of genes.

cpl's chickies are so cute I cant beleave there is something wrong with them , mine have clean legs and the babies I jsut hatched have cleal legs as well. Betta Im gonna just be danceing around in anticapation till you get pictures

Feather legs is GOOD, at least in my opinion, lol.



Hard to see the feathers on the leg, but if you look closely, you can see it. I was wrong, there are only three white feather legged chicks. Please excuse the yucky tush on the chick in the picture. I have to go through and do a bum trim.


One of my oldest son, holding a duckling. This duckling is very weak on the left leg and flips over. It was stuck in the egg too long, and has now become Talon's ward to take care of (basically just holding it upright as much as possible to help "train" that leg)

I want to thank coldupnorth for the wonderful box of goodies for my grandson. of course it has been downpouring rain, here the po worker secured the box in a grocery bag. the box was really damp, and i had to open it from the bottom!

and the toys should come with a warning label. n.n i pushed the button on the dinosaur and the light hit my eyeball now im half blind LOL. thank so much he will enjoy them!

it was a nice surprise after my daughter had the flu for 3 days then i caught a cold . sigh. so happy surprise. ty ty ty

Is that a silkie from eggs you got from me or somebody else? Soo cute. You should put a couple more up there and one of those chirping ornaments. That would really get peoples attention when they came over. lol
