This afternoon has me wondering.. what world do we live in where I'm getting more SILKIE eggs then anything?? 3 today, all others by my jubilee are hiding theirs.

So...here's a dumb question. I'm new to the swaps and have been eyeballing stuff.

Do we try to match a dollar value to what we just traded for? Or is it really 'whatcha got'?

Like I have my family's recipe for 15 bean soup mix (some batches made up), could do old family recipes on cards, crocheted scrubbers, even handspun yarn...but none of that would be the same as the value of some of these eggs being traded!

Everyone is very helpful here. If someone doesn't think what you're offering is enough, they'll suggest you add something. I know I'd be interested in both yarn and old recipes, but I'm new to swapping too, so I until I have more to offer, I mostly just watch.

I would grab handspun yarn every time! It's not what you value your stuff at per say, its what other people value it at. For someone who spins yarn or makes soap, its no big deal but for someone who doesnt have those skills, your stuff is amazing. You can offer it and if no one snags it after a fee days, change it up or add to it.

Im in pittsburgh pa area ...looking for a bantam cochin roo, I have 2 silkie roos if anyone is interested
