@emvickrey your iris are beautiful! Do you have to dig them up over the winter?
I don't dig them up in winter. I did dig up the white bed because I wanted to move them. Thats the bed that has a couple different colors in it. People would drive by and want to trade some of my white for a color they had and of course I did. I just planted what they brought me in the white bed. Thats why there are other colors that could be in the shipment other than white if gotten from that bed. When they bloom I'll know where they are and move them to start a bed of that color.

I love the colored ones! Looking for low maintenance flowers I'll be able to plant and not have to dig up over the winter once I move up to the carolinas. Guess I found one :)

Anyone know about amaryllis or day lilies?

Day lilies grow crazy wild in Colorado... severe cold winters, and they come back each year... should be great for the Carolinas... :)

I have amaryllis and day lillies and both are easy to care for. The amaryllis I have in pots and they always multiply. I just take the "babies" and put them in another pot. I put them out in the spring and bring them back in before it frosts

That's what I don't want to do though. I have a few dozen amaryllis in the ground here but don't want to have to bring them in during the winter up there :/

Woohoo. I have a few clusters of those also. Going to miss my desert rose, amaryllis, mangoes and plumeria though but am excited for peonies, blackberries, raspberries, watermelon and grapes to name a few :)

Columbines are great winter survivors too... I planted 3 last fall and 2 are huge and flowering now... woulda been all 3, but my Am's dustbathed it to death, lol...
