I really don't know if you can or not. I guess I've never made applesauce before but it seems like you should be able to. I don't see why not. WHich recipe were you wanting the cherry one or an applesauce if I had it?
The cherry is
approx. 3 lbs cherries(should equal 4 level cups of crushed fruit)
1 pkg jel-ease pectin
5 cups sugar
4 tbsp. lemon juice( leave out if using sour cherries)
