I am thinking our po will probably close. It's a one horse town, and with cutbacks I expect it will be one of the first to go. I ship from the next town over anyway, but it is nice to have the option.
Lanatwo, your eggs are packed and in my car on the way to Florida. Will ship Monday. At least they have a shorter trip.

it's doing really well despite being a bit backwards on the hatching. this morning I woke to see the back half of the eggscheel stuck on it's back and tushie (like a chicken-turtle hybrid) a lil warm water and we eased it off. Now it's singing to the quails in the brooder who are singing bck to the incubator.

once it dries up and gets some strength, i'll vent sex it.

Those boxes basically become little incubators in this heat. In fact one I received that was cracked had definitely started. Though one pipping only a few days later is kind of crazy. Especially for a duck. Don't they take a bit longer than chickens?

Just got to read this.
The duck egg was already being sat on and was incubating and was accidentally picked up from what the person thought was a fresh nest but it must have gotten stolen from another nest because it hatched about a week after arriving at the buyer's house and did not totally incubate in the mail. It just didn't die in the shell on the way.

I recieved my blueberry and apple carmel jam today...

postal worker strapped it to my mail box.

greatful that I had to only work 3 hrs today.... jams were in perfect shape.
