I've included some things I'm looking for on my swap page, but if anybody is interested in a side swap for yarn of any color or type, please PM me.

I've just joined a group at a local church called Closely Knit. The group has about 20 members and make crochet and knit shawls/afghans for people in need. Once a person finishes an afghan, it is passed around the group and prayed over by each member. Then, it is delivered to the person it was made for. Most of the afghans go to elderly folks in the nursing home or the homebound. So, the yarn will be for making afghans for this purpose.

I just found this thread and want to make sure I am clear as to how it works before I start posting stuff... I can offer stuff and request what I want in return? Or do I offer and I have to pic something from whoever claims what I offered first? Also, since I am new, I have to have a confirmation # when I ship, do I just have to ask the post office for that or is it normal for them to include it, is it a certain type of shipping to get the confirmation #? Thanks! Looking forward to joining!

All swappers are required to get confirmation numbers. You can ask for a confirmation number at the post office when you ship. I do most of my shipping straight from my computer with priority mail so the confirmation is included in the price. The difference for new members is they are required to mail their items & send the confirmation number to the person that they claimed an item from before the item they claimed is mailed.
